How does UK Youth Parliament Work? The UK Youth Parliament has 600 elected MYPs
(Members of Youth Parliament) aged 11-18.

Once elected MYPs organise events and projects, run campaigns and influence decision makers on the issues which matter most to young people. All MYPs meet once a year at the UK Youth Parliament Annual Sitting.
How can I get involved?
All young people in B&NES can vote in the UKYP elections. There will be polling stations at most schools and all youth centres in B&NES on Thursday 3rd February. Take a look at the Manifestoes.
For the first time in Bath and North East Somerset we are splitting the area and electing two Members of Youth Parliament to represent young people across the Bath & North East Somerset Council area.
This year some of the issues that the Candidates are proposing to tackle are:
University Fees, More information on dangers and concerns of Alco pops, Promotion, Sky - and promotion of being able to watch national sports, Reinstate EMA, Cheaper Transport Costs, Against the rise in University Fees, Safer school crossings, Cheaper entry to sports and entertainment facilities, Improving educational opportunities, More of a say in our rights as pupils 7 education should give everyone a fair chance, Improving the media image of young people, Challenging fairness of housing allocations, Challenge people who stereotype young people, Louder voice for young people to be heard, Improved Sex and relationships education, Protection of the environment.
